Home / MANCHESTER CITY MAKES HISTORY BY MANAGING A CLEAN DOMESTIC SWEEP IN A SINGLE SEASON

Pep Guardiola's men's team have made English history by becoming the first team to win all four domestic trophies in one campaign.

They claimed the first silverware of the new season with a comfortable 2-0 win over Chelsea in the Community Shield. They also beat the same opponent on penalties to retain the Carabao cup they had won 12 months ago against Arsenal.

City became the first team to retain the Premier League title in a decade when they beat Brighton 4-1 at the Amex Stadium on the final day of the season.
Goals from David Silva, Kevin De Bruyne and a brace apiece from Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling saw City overwhelm Watford 6-0 in the FA Cup final and so complete a historic domestic clean sweep to create English history
