Britam has signed a drug distribution deal with Haltons Pharmacy, GoodLife Pharmacy, Malibu Pharmacy, and MYDAWA Online Pharmacy, allowing policyholders to access drugs conveniently.

Medical cover holders will access healthcare services at the above facilities for minor and uncomplicated ailments without the need to visit a hospital under the deal.

Speaking after the signing, Britam General Insurance Chief Executive Officer(CEO) and Principal Officer Jackson Theuri noted that the company aims to make healthcare more accessible.

“By leveraging the expertise of accredited pharmacies, the insurer is making healthcare more accessible and convenient for their valued customers as well as helping them conserve their outpatient benefits for more complicated ailments that require hospital visits.”

The program allows for quick and convenient medication refills and partner pharmacies for clients with chronic medical conditions such as hypertension and diabetes.

Further, in cases of more complex health issues, clients will be referred to a Britam-accredited hospital where specialized care is available.

The program will cover a wide range of common diagnoses, including acute peptic ulcer disease, malaria, acute sinusitis, rhinitis & rhinopharyngitis, and acute otitis externa.

Others are acute otitis media and acute diarrhea. In addition to these diagnoses, the program also includes coverage for musculoskeletal pain, bruises, and minor lacerations, among others.
