Lawrence Njuguna, better known as DJ Fatxo, a well-known Mugiithi artist, has broken his silence following viral allegations of his involvement in the LGBTQ community.

These rumours gained traction after he was linked to the unexpected death of designer Jeff Mwathi, who died on 22 February 2023 after falling from the 12th floor of Redwood Apartments in Kasarani, DJ Fatxo's house.

In an exclusive interview with Nairobi News, DJ Fatxo categorically refuted the claims and expressed shock at reports that he had bribed authorities.

"I did not expect to face additional allegations after all the investigations." People claim I bribed influential people. What do they believe I'm worth? Would I live in a rented property if I had the financial means? "I'd have my own house," he explained.

The Mugiithi musician provided light on an ongoing struggle within the music industry, stressing that the fight was not about pursuing justice for Jeff Mwathi, as has been widely reported.

"That's what bothers me the most. I have shed more tears for Jeff than for some individuals you see online. "The real battle is about talent and the divine gifts God has bestowed upon us," DJ Fatxo lamented.

DJ Fatxo addressed Jeff Mwathi's family in a touching message, imploring them to remember his love and care for their late loved one.

He expressed remorse that Jeff died so soon after they had spent time together.

"I thought inviting him into my home was an act of pure love and care for a distant friend." They should look beyond the web store and see my fondness for him," he continued.

Regarding the rumours that he belonged to the LGBTQ community, DJ Fatxo denied involvement.

He expressed disappointment that those who know the truth have remained silent while scrutinizing him publicly.

"Even their mothers recognize it's not me." When allegations are made, these folks never come forward to clarify their viewpoint, and everyone discusses your apparent association with the LGBTQ community. But I guarantee you that I am not a member, have never been, and will never be," he reiterated.

Throughout the Directorate of Criminal Investigations' extensive and comprehensive inquiry, DJ Fatxo claimed that he felt isolated, with only a few friends and relatives.

As DJ Fatxo breaks his silence, the world awaits further revelations regarding Jeff Mwathi's untimely death.

On Wednesday, Dancun Okach, a lawyer, announced that the ODPP had recommended an inquest into Jeff Mwathi's death.
