A British man seemed delighted when he was in yesterday's anti-government protests led by the azimio la Umoja coalition.
In the now-viral clip, the man is right in the middle of the protests and is in the company of those engaging the police in a running battle. A tear gas canister was thrown towards them, and he could be seen choking from the tear gas smoke.
This muzungu joined #Maandamano #Tumechoka #Maandamanowednesday protests and tasted tear-gas manufactured in his country. Maybe @magicalkenya should add this as part of the tourism attractions that Kenya has to offer 😂😂 pic.twitter.com/KWXHi5lkli

Kenyans were, however, left wondering how he could keep his phone from being snatched. He kept waving it carefully in the middle of a rowdy crowd, something normal kenyans don't do.
Police have sprayed tear gas at people participating in opposition-organized anti-government protests nationwide.
After engaging demonstrators in ongoing battles over the high cost of living, police deployed tear gas to disperse crowds gathering to picket in Nairobi's Mathare neighbourhood.
The cities of Mombasa and Kisumu and Migori, Nyamira, and Emali communities all saw similar sights. Azimio called for protests because the Kenya Kwanza government had imposed onerous tax laws rather than prioritizing the needs of Kenyans.
According to Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome, the opposition still needs to give the police an official notification of the planned protests. As a result, the meetings will be considered illegal.
