Diageo's newly launched Africa Digital Hub, led by Ms Waithera Kabiru, former Head of Media Futures at EABL, is set to cater to key markets in Africa, including Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, and Ghana. This strategic move further solidifies Kenya's prominent stature as a frontrunner in the African tech landscape. Kenya's position is strengthened by the emergence of a growing and affluent middle-class population, fueling the country's reputation as a technology leader in the region.

Due to mobile penetration, technological innovation, and an expanding middle class, Kenya is becoming a preferred innovation site for major global tech companies.

According to a new white paper by Visa, e-commerce will reach $7 trillion globally by 2024 after experiencing exceptional growth rates worldwide.

Susan Jones, the global lead for digital transformation at Diageo, made the announcement at the hub's inauguration and emphasized that the hub, the first of its kind in the area, will support Diageo's digital ambition, "To win the next generation celebration by engaging and delighting consumers with world-class experiences across every consumer physical and digital touch points."
