When asked the question as to why they prefer marrying women from across the border, many claim that Kenyan women ni makurutu(stubborn). They say Kenyan women are very stubborn and do not listen to anything they say.
Another courageous man said that Ugandan women are very submissive and treat their men like queens, unlike their Kenyan counterparts, who are not submissive. They claim that Ugandan women talk to their men respectfully and are always ready to serve them when they come home from work.

Another reason why Kenyan men say they are running away from Kenyan women is because Kenyan women are money hungry. They accuse Kenyan women of loving them according to the money they have, and if the money disappears, they disappear too. They applaud Ugandan women for persevering and loving them even when broke.
One man claimed that when he lost his job, they would sleep hungry, yet his wife had money in his account and wanted him to take over the domestic roles because she was now the breadwinner.
Kenyan men have also complained that Kenyan women drink like theirs no tomorrow and party from dawn till dusk and that you will always find them in dens where wababaz hang out, like eating nyama choma at kamakis or docking rhumba dens.
Kenyan men have also praised women from across the border for their design, saying that God took his time making them and that they still uphold their traditional values.
