Charlene received much criticism on social media following her statement, projects, and events she has been to. Just a week ago, Charlene opened up on a smokie Kachumbari business she was doing at daystar and a section of Kenyans accused her of lies.
It took courageous alumni of Daystar University to defend her. Charlene appreciated her by paying a visit to the lady at Huruma Nairobi.
Now, Charlene unveil her office, "the First Daughter" office which the same Kenyans who wanted her role clearly stated are still complaining about.
The President's daughter knows how well to get through any battle against her. She defended herself following criticism over her remarks about the Office of the First Daughter.
According to Charlene, the office is a private entity and her foundation is not funded by the government but by well-wishers and sponsors. In a statement on Wednesday, Charlene said her office was also not being run using the taxpayers' money.
"The Office of the First Daughter is a private entity. It is neither a constitutional office nor is it being funded by Kenyan taxpayers. The office runs to purely facilitate the activities of and any programs by Ms Charlene Ruto," reads the statement.
She said the office has been engaging different stakeholders as part of its objectives, which include pushing for youth-based agendas and climate change advocacy.
"The Office of the First Daughter has at all times acted in good faith to ensure that the Kenyan Youth have a voice and get access to opportunities to enable sustainable livelihoods."
