President William Ruto has appointed Isaac Mwaura as government spokesperson deputized by Ms. Mwanaisha Chidzuga and Gabriel Muthuma.
The Head of Public Service Felix Koskei, announced the appointments on Wednesday that take effect immediately.
Mwaura replaces Colonel (Retired) Cyrus Oguna, who had held the position since May 2019 and resigned in October 2022 to accept the role of Chief of Staff for Siaya Governor James Orengo.
Before the appointment as Government spokesperson, the former senator had been nominated by President Ruto to serve as Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) in the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.
Mwaura was yet to assume the CAS position following the court ruling that suspended the CAS nominations.
