Kenya's largest non-bank lender by market share, Tala, has appointed Annstella Mumbi as its new General Manager for the Kenya Unit.
This appointment makes her one of few women in leadership positions at large technology companies in Kenya.
She was previously Tala's Global Director of Growth and Interim General Manager of Kenya before being named GM.

Mumbi is a business executive with over ten years of expertise in fintech, EdTech, and venture capital, having held various roles in strategy, growth, and expansion, as well as overall company leadership in Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa, and Uganda.
She has a bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT).
Jori Pearsall, Tala's Chief Business Officer, said that Over the past three years at Tala, Mumbi has demonstrated tremendous leadership, expanded her scope numerous times, and most recently served as the company's Interim General Manager.
He added that Mumbi can unite the Kenya leadership team and rally Tala around a bold vision for Kenya's next growth phase.
"In addition to the vision, she will continue to lead the team of 130 Talazens in Kenya by bringing together new technology, partnerships, and ways of doing business to drive the business forward while never losing sight of our Kenyan customers."
