The government has increased the price of a kilo of cotton by 25 percent to Kes 65 from Kes 52 in all granaries in the country.
According to Industry Principal Secretary Juma Mukhwana, the new prices will take effect immediately to all cotton-growing regions in the country.
The ministry says it is working with governors from 24 counties to buy and make more seeds available next year.
