Carrefour has announced the appointment of Christophe Orcet as its new Country manager succeeding Frank Moreau.

Prior, Orcet served as the Head of Operations commercial MAF for the United Arab Emirates.

His appointment comes at a time when the retailer is seeking to expand its operations in East Africa.

The retail chain, Carrefour now operates 19 stores countrywide, with 15 located in Nairobi, while Kisumu and Mombasa host two stores each.

Carrefour stores are located at the Thika Road Mall, the Two Rivers Mall, the Southfields Mall, the Hub, the Village Market, the Galleria Shopping Mall, the Sarit Centre, and the Junction Mall.

Other branches are Valley Arcade and Kilimani in Nairobi, United Mall and Mega Plaza in Kisumu, and City Mall and Center Point Mall in Nyali and Diani, respectively.

The retail store, opened its first store at the Comet House in November last year to tap Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD) customers.

The new store is located along Monrovia Street, offering a wide array of products such as consumer goods, cleaning and household products, personal hygiene products, and fresh food, including fruits and vegetables.
