The Public Service Commission (PSC) is calling for applications for the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) governor and deputy governor positions.
PSC Chair Anthony Muchiri stated that in order to be considered for the posts, candidates must fulfil a number of criteria in the job posting.
Candidates for CBK Governor must be Kenyan nationals who are well-versed in current financial market developments.
He or she must also uphold the principles of Chapter 6 of the Constitution and be an honest person.
Those applying should also have administrative and organisational skills, as well as at least 10 years of work experience in good governance.
The outgoing governor, Patrick Njoroge, who assumed office in 2015, will be replaced by the next governor.
In June of this year, Njoroge, who is serving his second and final four-year term, will leave CBK.
The management of the bank, including staff organisation, hiring, and firing, is the responsibility of CBK.
The governor also executes contracts reached by the bank, as well as notes and securities issued by the bank, either alone or in partnership with other parties.
The application period closes on April 19, 2023, and everyone interested is urged to apply through the PSC.
