Kakuzi Plc has appointed lawyer Pamella Ager to sit on its board as an independent director to enhance corporate governance and board diversity standards.
The corporate legal advocate of the High Court of Kenya also serves as the managing partner at Oraro & Company Advocates.
The Agricultural company Chairperson Nicholas Ng’ang’a said Ager would join the board effective April 1, 2023, as part of the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE)-a listed firm’s commitment to boost the board’s diversity.
Further, he said that Kakuzi Plc has been actively working to adopt world-class corporate governance standards over the years.
“We have made commendable progress by adopting several operating policies. As we welcome Ms Ager, I am confident that the Board will greatly benefit from her wealth of experience, counsel and contributions as we seek to steer Kakuzi to greater heights,” he added.

Ager has a bachelor of law from the University of Waikato in Hamilton, New Zealand, and a first-class honours master of law from Auckland University.
Also, she has a degree from the Kenya School of Law.
The solicitor is also a member of the East African Law Society, the Commonwealth Lawyers Association, the Federation of Women Attorneys, the Law Society of Kenya, and the Institute of Directors (Kenya).
She serves on some nonprofit and educational organisation boards.
