Mr. Christopher Wambua, the CEO of the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB), has advised local content creators to use the growth of the internet to commercialize their works and create entertainment that upholds social values.

Mr. Wambua was speaking at the first Africa Creation Hub graduation, which took place on April 4, 2023, at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Nairobi.

The Africa Creative Hub is a project by ByteDance and Wowzi that aims to nurture and develop talent throughout Sub-Saharan Africa as well as acknowledge and honour the African creative community.

The project also gives content producers a chance to expand their creativity and gain access to finance so they can make a living from what they do.

The CEO commended the event's organizers and stated that KFCB is dedicated to supporting initiatives like these that encourage clean cinema content while fostering youth talent for job creation.

Mr. Wambua said Entrepreneurial skilling coupled with digital skilling could go a long way in uplifting the lives of many young people in the creative space. Wambua added that KFCB is cognizant of this fact, and that is why the Board is collaborating with like-minded organizations to support such initiatives.
