Safaricom has unveiled a new payment model that will enable its post-pay and prepaid subscribers pay for goods and services using 5G bundles.
Users must dial *544*34# through their Safaricom lines and then be prompted to pay the amount keyed in via till numbers or pay bills.
The service only allows one to proceed beyond the dialling code if one does not have the no-expiry data limit threshold of 5 gigabytes of Safaricom bundles.
In the new payment model, Kes500 is equivalent to 7,692.21MBS (7.7GB), while Kes2,000 is equivalent to 30,769.23MBs (30.8GB).
This comes a few months after the telco launched a new product that allowed users to repay their bills and Okoa Jahazi using Bonga Points and buy smartphones.
