President William Ruto has announced that the cost of fertilizers will be reduced by Kes 1,000 to 2,500 under the subsidized fertilizer programme.
Speaking during the development tour of Isiolo and Meru Counties on Thursday, Ruto said that the state has implemented robust measures to improve food production nationwide.
“Increasing our food production is the most sustainable way to eradicate hunger and ease the cost of living,” Ruto said.
He issued title deeds to the people of Etoro Ltungai in Isiolo and Ruiri-Rwarera in Meru County.
The President claimed that the distribution of title deeds would give people and families access to credit to start undertaking life-altering initiatives.
The President ordered the paving of Isiolo Town Roads in Isiolo County.
To accommodate the expanding population in the area, the government will modernise Isiolo town.
“We will enhance the roads within the town, upgrade security and fix the sewerage lines. This will elevate the town’s profile and accelerate the growth of businesses in the area.”
The President added that the government will equip and upgrade Isiolo Hospital to Level 5 status to respond to the region's healthcare needs.
