Jumia Foods has expanded its delivery services to Meru and Nanyuki towns allowing locals to order food from KFC.
Jumia Food Commercial Director Sonali Patel said the expansion is part of Jumia Food’s strategy to expand its services to Kenya’s secondary cities.
“We are excited to bring Jumia Food to Meru and Nanyuki. There is a growing demand for online food delivery in these secondary cities, and we are confident that our partnership with KFC will meet the needs of local consumers.”
Over the following five years, the nationwide online meal delivery market is anticipated to expand at a CAGR of 15%.
On her part, Kuku Foods East Africa CEO Jacques Theunissen aims to make access to their menu easier and create new channels for connecting with their customers across all our restaurants in Kenya.
“The changing consumer trends around online ordering, specifically in Nanyuki where the demand for delivery has grown, have led us to partner with e-commerce players like Jumia Food to provide this service.”
Jumia Food currently operates in Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Eldoret, and Nakuru, with plans for more expansions in the coming months.
