Gideon Kimaiyo, the member of parliament for Keiyo South, has promised to ensure that every student in his district who took the KCSE exam in 2023 is admitted to Form 1.
The MP threatened to arrest any parent found keeping their child at home by Wednesday of this week, even as she offered to assist parents with paying school fees.
"Any child with 250 marks & above and still at home should report to school by tomorrow. Fanyeni Shopping. Your MP will take care of school fees," he said.
The MP advised parents of children who received less than 250 marks to enroll them in day schools, emphasizing that these are free.

"Any Child with below 250 marks and still at home should report to Day School immediately. Day school in Keiyo South Constituency is free. By Wednesday, any parent found with a child at home will be arrested. Through the office of DCC working with all chiefs, we shall ensure 100% transition to Form 1," said the MP in a statement.
According to the Ministry of Education data, more than 130,000 boys and girls from all over Kenya were still not in secondary school.
The ministry placed 1.39 million Children in secondary schools. Ninety-one percent of these have reported to schools; the rest have not.
