So, what is the iron dome defense system? This is a Land-based system that intercepts and destroys short-range rockets and mortars that was launched in 2011.
It is fueled by missile-defense batteries capable of defending against mortar and rocket assaults conducted from Palestinian regions within 40 kilometers of the battery. The system is mobile and can be moved to where it is needed.

The Iron Dome Defense system works by intercepting missiles before they explode and intercepted its first missile from Gaza in 2011 and has intercepted thousands of missiles from the enemies ever since.
So how does it work? The system uses radar to detect incoming objects such as missiles. After the detection, the system tracks it and keeps updating its position. If the system determines that the object is a threat, it launches an interceptor missile to intercept and destroy the threat in the air. The launcher has about 20 such interceptor missiles and has to be reloaded.
The highly mobile interceptor missile is designed to collide with the incoming projectile, neutralizing it before it can reach its intended target.
The Iron Dome technology can also predict where the projectile's debris will land, ensuring that any remaining shards do not harm people or property on the ground.
