Narok South deputy county commissioner Felix Kisalu has confirmed that one person has died after he was struck by lightning in Narok County.
Kisalu said one person was left injured following the incident.
Further, he said that the two were at the Triangle trading center near Maasai Mau forest when tragedy struck.
"The were at a local hotel at the time amid heavy downpour," Kisalu said.
The injured man was rushed to Longisa Hospital in neighboring Bomet County.

"We rushed to the scene when we got the distress call from locals. We called an ambulance and rushed the two to the hospital," police noted.
The body of the deceased was taken to Longisa Hospital mortuary.
Meanwhile, Kisalu has urged locals to be cautious about the expected El Niño rains.
