The Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition leader Raila Odinga and President William Ruto are anticipated at Lodwar, Turkana County, for the Turkana cultural event known as Tobong'u Lore.

On Thursday, President Ruto was scheduled to attend the festival, while Odinga was expected to participate on Friday.

According to a statement from Philip Etale, the communications director for the ODM Party, Odinga is scheduled to deliver a keynote speech on devolution on Friday. He will discuss its advantages and why it should be strengthened to promote more development in the devolved regions.

The annual celebration, now in its seventh year, gets underway on Thursday to highlight the Turkana people's traditions and portray Turkana as the birthplace of humanity.

In 2014, Odinga inaugurated the first Tobong'u Lore.

According to the 2019 census, there are 1,016,174 Turkana people or 2.14 percent of Kenya's population.

After the Kalenjin and the Luo, it is the third-largest Nilotic ethnic group in Kenya and the tenth-largest ethnicity overall.
