The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) has asked the DCI to investigate the case of a man masquerading as a lawyer. Kenyans on Twitter have branded him the Kenyan 'Mike Ross'.

On Thursday evening, the LSK Nairobi branch warned the public about Brian Mwenda, who was reportedly impersonating an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya to deceive naïve customers.

It was said that Brian Mwenda Njagi was neither an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya nor a member of society.

Members are encouraged to share any information of any person masquerading as an Advocate for the necessary action.

"It has been brought to the attention of the LSK Nairobi Branch through the Rapid Action Team (RAT) that the above pictured person has been presenting and conducting himself as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a member of LSK Nairobi Branch." the LSK statement reads.

"The Branch wishes to notify all members of the society and the public that BRIAN MWENDA NJAGI is not an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, from the Society’s records, neither is he a member of the Branch."

Omwanza Ombati, a veteran lawyer, also took to X to raise the alarm, noting that Brian's activities showed the tremendous threats that Kenyan lawyers faced.

"It appears that Mr Mwenda managed to upload his image as the profile picture on an account belonging to another advocate who shares a similar name," he said.
