At least 2,215 people have died in Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip since Hamas attacked southern Israel one week ago, including 724 children, according to the Palestinian territory's health ministry, which is run by Hamas.
According to the government, 458 women were among those slain. Following a previous statement that at least 324 people had died in the previous day alone, it was added that 8,714 additional individuals had also been injured.
