According to the latest data released by the Cooperatives and MSMEs CS Simon Chelugui shows, Nairobi, Kiambu, Nakuru, Machakos and Meru counties have the highest number of subscribers of the Hustler fund.

The data shows that Nairobi accounts for the lion's share of the Kes 9.5 billion released as of December 19 where a total of Kes 1.14 billion has been disbursed to 1.4 million subscribers.

 Kiambu comes second with Kes 651 million which has 812,127 borrowers.

 Further, 594,399 borrowers in Nakuru have received Kes 454 million while in Machakos with 483,707 subscribers, some Kes 354 million has been released.

Meru has seen 449,095 users receive Kes320 million.

Lamu, Isiolo, Marsabit, Samburu and Wajir are ranked at the bottom.

The CS has, however, expressed satisfaction that the fund has continued to attract more Kenyans to the digital platform even as others continue to repay.

"I am encouraged that more Kenyans have taken this fund positively.If the savings is progressed thus we are able to clock Kes 32 billion in two years."he said.

Additionally, CS Chelugui stated that those between 18-29 years are 33 per cent, 30-39 (30 per cent), 40-49 (19 per cent),50-59 (10 per cent) and 60-69 (five per cent).
