Four people died on Thursday evening in a road accident involving a lorry and a motorcycle road at Kasimba junction near Oyugis town along Kisii-Oyugis Road in Rachuonyo South Sub-County.
According to an eye witness, Charles Okach, the accident occurred when the lorry ferrying soap stones from Kisii town hit the motorcycle carrying three pillion passengers from Nyang’iela trading center towards Oyugis town.
The boboda rider reportedly entered the roadway without checking to see if there were any oncoming cars.
Okach said the truck hooted to warn the rider, but since the truck and the motorcycle were traveling at high speeds, this did not occur.
The truck lost control and flipped over on the side of the road after colliding with the rider and passengers.
