A family in Kakamega County is asking for justice after their relative allegedly collapsed and died after receiving a lethal injection at the Elwesero Health Centre in Kakamega.
Annette Injene, 24, was escorted to the hospital by her three-year-old daughter after complaining of abdominal problems. She fainted seconds after allegedly being injected by one of the doctors.
"She arrived on a boda boda around 10 a.m., and we proceeded to the hospital together...The doctor instructed her to come in for treatment. "He said they didn't have any drugs and that she should come back on Monday to get her medication," Jentrix Auka, an eyewitness, explained.

"He injected her with a drug, and she became sick." The doctor summoned his colleague, and they began offering first aid, but she did not survive."
After efforts to resuscitate the patient failed, the medic allegedly vanished, leaving the family devastated.
According to the autopsy report, the deceased died of adverse medical management caused by poor medical care.
"According to the report, the cause is therapeutic misfortune, which means that my sister died as a result of a drug reaction." "We don't know what kind of drug was used," Susan Injene's sister pointed out.
The autopsy report was given to the family by Dr Dickson Muchana, a Kakamega County Referral Hospital pathologist, whom DCI investigators accompanied.
"We conducted an open autopsy in the presence of family members and reached an agreement on the findings." "We have given the report to DCI officers," Muchana said.
Following the sad tragedy, the family is now seeking justice.
"We're fighting for our rights; what happened to our sister?" She walked into the hospital alone with her child but never returned!" Richard Injene, her brother, stated.
