On October 30, members of the General Service Unit (GSU) cordoned off Kisii Governor Simba Arati's office at Gusii Stadium.

Reports indicate that Governor Arati was prevented from accessing the stadium, where he maintains a secondary office.

Sources suggest that the GSU deployed around the office following directives from higher authorities.

The governor asserted that security personnel intended to conduct a search of his Motonto residence and other premises at night, but he requested them to carry it out during daylight hours.

Governor Simba Arati and his lawyers at DCI offices in Kisii Town to report invasion of his offices by GSU officers. The local DCI boss is currently out of office, but the governor says he will wait for him.

However, Kisii County Police Commander Charles Kases denied the raid on offices belonging to the Kisii Governor. The county commander said GSU officers were patrolling the area and decided to relax at the stadium.
