Students of a multi-media university are in shock after a fourth-year student committed suicide in the hostel washroom.
The Science and Technology student is thought to have committed suicide on Sunday while alone in the hostel.
According to accounts, his pals had gone out for the night on Saturday, but the deceased chose to stay behind, and his body was later discovered hanging from a rafter in the hostel washroom. Police are investigating the death.
Prof Paul Mbatia, the University's Deputy Vice-Chancellor, conveyed his condolences to the family and led a prayer session with students.

"The scant information we have is that he was in the room when the incident occurred," he told pupils. We've been told he appeared agitated... we've been able to reach the father but have yet to reach the mother, so we can't name names."
The body was subsequently been transported to the City Mortuary for a postmortem examination.
