Majority Whip Silvanus Osoro has denied bribe allegations leveled against him by the EACC and has blamed a political operative he identified as 'RG' for the matter that led to his summoning.
The South Mugirango MP rubbished claims levied against him in a letter submitted to EACC CEO Twalib Mbarak on Thursday, claiming that the aforementioned individual has been coercing the commission's officers to go after him at "whatever cost."
He reiterated his innocence in the EACC claims, stating that he is a person of high moral character.
According to the letter from Osoro's lawyer, "Plausible material has been laid before us, pointing to collateral interventions and orchestrations by a political operative codenamed RG, who has been piling pressure on certain EACC officers to persecute our client at whatever cost,"

"Notwithstanding the political machinations, our client has no doubt that he will effortlessly be able to prove his innocence if so required, and restore the phenomenal trust and public confidence that he has diligently cultivated over the years." he added.
The attorney called the commission's claims against Osoro "false and baseless," adding that the congressman is a professional leader with no history of misbehavior.
“Based on media expositions referencing on the said letter, our client is alleged to have breached undisclosed integrity and ethical requirements governing the conduct of State officers,” Kamotho noted.
The summon from the EACC came after sentiments made by the majority whip on Sunday during an event organized by Bomet Women Representative Linet Chepkorir, famously known as Toto, where he bragged about how deep his pockets run before seemingly ceding to dishing out money.
“Sasa wewe ukipiga kelele hapa hautakula pesa. We unafikiria mimi ni maskini? Mi napanganga laini hapa watu wanakula mia mbili wakienda. Hizi ni vitu ndogo sana. Unanyamaza, nazungumza alafu nakulipa.” he said
"Mimi nimekuwa bunge siku mingi na nimetengeneza kitu ya kutosha. Na mimi ndio chief whip kule bungeni. Hao wabunge wote mimi ndio nawasimamia na wakitaka kuenda ng'ambo wanakuja kwa ofisi yangu wananiachia yangu ndio wanaenda." he added
