Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) detectives in Nairobi have arrested the Ruai sub-county police commander for soliciting a Kes 5,000 bribe to secure the release of four suspects detained for drunkenness and disorderly conduct.
According to a police report, he was arrested on Saturday evening following a complaint filed against him.
“Please be informed that today at around 1650 hours, officers from EACC Nairobi arrested the OCS Ruai on allegations that he had received three thousand shillings, treated as a bribe, to secure the release of four detainees held for the offense of being drunk and disorderly.”
After his arrest, the officer was escorted to the EACC headquarters at Integrity Centre for further questioning.
As for the four detainees, they remain in custody awaiting arraignment, scheduled for Monday.
