Police are looking for a herder who allegedly cut off another man’s hand over a grazing land dispute in Masinga, Machakos County.
According to a police report, the victim, 27-year-old Francis Mithanga Muteti, also suffered a deep cut on the head following the altercation reported to authorities by a village elder.
"Police officers rushed to the scene at Kiliala village and they found the victim's left hand having been completely chopped off at the wrist and he had a deep cut on his head and was bleeding furiously," read part of the report.
A panga, which police believe was used in the attack, was recovered at the scene and kept as an exhibit.
The victim was correspondingly rushed to the Gakuku Mission Hospital for treatment.

"His family members insisted to proceed to hospital with the part of the body that was cut off in order to try surgical alternative," added the police report.
