Winfred Mueni, 28, has been charged with manslaughter after an intimate experience with her lover left him dead.
The victim, Titus Njoroge Kimani, 30, died on September 22 in the Baba Dogo estate in Ruaraka, Nairobi, where the two love birds had met to conduct their illicit affair.
Mueni, who is married to someone else, rushed to summon Kimani's relatives at 8 p.m. on September 22 after he got unconscious while they were having intercourse.
Kimani was discovered naked in his bed and was confirmed dead on arrival at the Nairobi County Government Hospital.
She was arraigned before Senior Principal Magistrate Hellen Okwan at Makadara Law Courts and rejected the manslaughter charges.
Mueni was charged under the doctrine of the last seen, which holds her responsible for being the last person seen with the afflicted.
The prosecution plans to use a used condom retrieved from his home, a postmortem report, and her spouse as a witness against her to convict her of manslaughter.
Kimani's family members who witnessed Mueni entering his home have been named as witnesses in her case.
On November 14, she was released on a bail of Ksh. 500,000 and a surety of the same amount.
Her case will be discussed again on February 22, and a hearing has been scheduled on May 30, 2024.
