NARC Kenya leader has stated that the Azimio la Umoja coalition will return to the streets if bipartisan talks with the government don't work.

The Azimio co-principal urged Kenyans to thoroughly exercise their civil, political, and human rights, stressing that they will not compromise their rights even in the face of probable difficulties during protests.

"Even if we are transported to heaven through killings during demonstrations, NARC Kenya and the people of Kenya are saying that should the talks fail us because they look like they are failing, we shall not forgo our rights, and we shall go back to the streets if necessary," she said

"We are saying no to intimidation and calling upon Kenyans to join and hold hands so that we restore sanity in our nation," the NARCK Kenya leader added.

Speaking at the NARC Kenya party headquarters on Thursday, October 16, Karua advocated abolishing an additional 8% fuel tax to stabilize expenses.

President William Ruto justified the government's intention to raise the value-added tax (VAT) on petroleum goods in May 2023, claiming it will earn Ksh. 50 billion for road building.

However, Karua claimed that taxes contribute to corruption and emphasized the need for value-driven leadership to alleviate Kenyans' suffering.

She also called for re-examining elected officials' track records, pushing individuals to actively participate in crafting public policy.

The NARC Kenya party head also demanded a careful examination of loans, calling into doubt the services they ostensibly financed.

"We must combat corruption, which has more than doubled under this regime." "I don't think it's even doubled; I think it's tripled," she commented.

Karua urged Kenyans to scrutinize the track record of elected leaders, warning against handing a "blank cheque" in public affairs management.

"In the management of public affairs, we hire people with a proven track record." "We're giving them a blank cheque," Karua explained.
