The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has announced that the bodies of two of its employees who drowned after their vehicle was swept away by floods in Kwale have been retrieved.
KRA Corporate Support Services Commissioner Nancy Ng’etich has revealed that the retrieval followed a multi-agency operation.
“The Authority sends a message of condolence to family members, friends, relatives, and colleagues. The Authority wishes to thank and appreciate the multiagency team and the local community for the assistance in the search and rescue operation.”
The two reportedly traveled to Mombasa from Lungalunga on Friday morning when the accident happened.
KRA Acting Southern Region Coordinator Lawrence Siele said the vehicle was swept by floods at Ramisi River after it overflooded the bridge.

In a Statement, Siele said the safety and well-being of KRA employees remain their priority and all machinery is being deployed for a positive outcome.
KRA has already engaged the family members of the two officers.
