A mother in Florida is facing charges after being seen on camera hitting her 6-year-old son.

Pamela Gladys Gaensel, 47, was arrested in Sunrise on Wednesday on a charge of child abuse without substantial bodily damage, according to NBC Miami.

Prosecutors said she yanked the 6-year-old from the SUV by his hair, flung him to the ground, and hurled a booster seat at him.

According to the video, Gaensel places the youngster back inside the truck. According to Sunrise police, the slapping sounds captured on the surveillance camera were slaps, and the youngster was then dragged from the car again.

The woman can be seen hurling objects over her son's head and into a neighboring yard. The child himself retrieved the things. The suspect was then caught on camera cursing her son.

A worried citizen notified the police, who went to the child's school and discovered marks on the boy.

"When law enforcement examined the child and saw that the child had marks on his back from being slapped, marks and bruises on the child's face, arms and palms," the prosecutor stated, according to WSVN.

Gaensel maintained she was disciplining the child for unhooking his car seat.

She was arrested and released on $5,000 bond after being charged with child abuse.
