CS Moses Kuria says the government has dispatched the first batch of 40 National Youth Service to the United Kingdom.

Speaking at the 87th NYS recruits pass-out parade in Gilgil on December 8, the CS said that NYS is now assisting its graduates in finding employment worldwide.

"The National Employment Authority is partnering with the National Youth Service to provide jobs for these young people to go out there and get jobs abroad. As we speak, we have just deployed the first batch of 40 service men and women who are going to the UK for readily available jobs," he said without giving more details.

Kuria expressed his gratitude to the governor and other state authorities for their contributions to the growth and development of New York State.

He also addressed how the agency has begun commercializing its agricultural endeavors, which he claims bear fruit.

"We want to thank the Department of Crop Development, they have partnered with NYS and we have been harvesting maize seeds in the Agricultural Development Corporation (ADC) Farm in Kitale, We have harvested 6 thousand hectares of maize of maize, " he said.

"We're not doing it for nothing." "Kenya Seed Company has come with a Ksh.13.5 million cheque to pay for NYS services," Kuria confirmed.

Kuria praised the NYS efforts and pillars, particularly its fourth pillar of commercialization, which aims to develop a self-sustaining service that does not require government funding.

"We want to promise you that by 2025, we will give you a divided check, having employed Young people and deployed them to useful commercial purposes and ensuring that we have a self-sustaining NYS," he said.
