A local city mayor stated that at least 13 people were killed in Argentina as a result of a deadly electrical storm that rocked the South American country's Atlantic coast.
In a post on X, Bahia Blanca mayor Federico Susbielles verified the death toll. The city is located near the southern tip of the province of Buenos Aires, which is one of Argentina's top grain-producing regions.
In a statement, President Javier Milei's administration expressed condolences to the victims' families and advised residents to stay inside their homes until Sunday morning, noting devastating wind gusts in the area surpassing 150 kph (93 mph).
