Kenyans on social media had different opinions on how senior journalist Sam Gituku handled the interview with President William Ruto.

While some kenyans praised him for being courageous and asking all the hard questions, some people felt he was bossy.

On one occasion, without fear, Gituku pinned down Ruto over the controversial housing levy and why it was changed from a fund to a tax. Here is a typed snippet of their exchange:

Sam Gituku: Mr. President, did Kenyans tell you they want a levy?

William Ruto: No. They told me they wanted jobs.

Sam Gituku: But when the same people told you they don't want it, you changed it from a fund to tax.

Sam Gituku: How much have you collected for the housing project so far?

Ruto: KSh 60 billion per month. Sam Gituku: KSh 60 billion? Ruto: Yes. Sam Gituku: KSh 60 billion?

Ruto: Yes. Sam Gituku: So you will have collected KSh 720 billion in 1 year?

One user by the name George was however not pleased with the journalist and accused him of being part of the githeri media set to undermine the president.

Some Kenyans were not pleased with the way president Ruto was answering the questions saying that he was dismissing all the data available and only taking his word as the gospel.

"President William Ruto only listens to himself. You saw how he was dismissing every statistics, data or report about the situation on the ground or his govt. What plans does he have? The plans of sinking the nation and enriching himself?" a user by the name The Government Critic said.

I didn't waste my time to watch that nonsense but based on the clips... This man Sam Gituku wiped the floor with your favourite liar. Let's appreciate Sam with a like. Tugeges you are vere free to comment ..."uhotani ūyū nì witū" pic.twitter.com/G3ik8eMpLY
