One person has died, and thirty-nine others injured in an accident at the Kona Mbaya area near Chesikaki market in Mt Elgon Constituency, Bungoma County.
Confirming the accident, Cheptais OCPD Jesse Mwakiriat said the accident involved a bus belonging to Green Line company.
"At least forty passengers were on board the vehicle which was from neighboring Uganda. We visited the scene of the accident and towed the vehicle to Chesikaki police station," he added.
Meanwhile, police have launched investigations to establish the cause of the incident.
The injured are treated at Cheptais sub-county hospital and Spikers private hospital.
