Police officers are investigating the suspicious death of A 79-year-old grandmother whose body was discovered near her home in Kai village, Makindu sub-county, Makueni county.
Mwandia Munywoki, senior assistant chief of Kai sublocation, said her family thought she went to Mbooni to greet her daughters, but when she didn't return, they began looking for her.
The elderly woman's body was discovered hanging from a nearby tree after an extensive search.
Police and detectives responded to the spot and transported the body to the mortuary at Makindu Hospital.
Munwoki advised residents to seek support from the government or religious authorities.
