Russia unleashed the largest air bombardment on Ukraine since the start of the full-scale invasion, killing at least 12 people and wounding dozens.
Blasts were recorded in the capital, Kyiv, as well as a maternity hospital in the center city of Dnipro, the eastern city of Kharkiv, the southern port of Odesa, and the western city of Lviv, all of which are far from the frontlines.
"It's been a long time since we have seen so many enemy targets on our monitors in all regions and directions," Yurii Ihnat, a spokesperson for Ukraine's air force, said on national television.

Russia utilized 158 drones and missiles, including hypersonic Kinzhal missiles, cruise missiles, and Shahed drones, to strike targets in Kyiv, the east, south, and west of the country, according to Ukraine's air force.
"Today, the adversary delivered a devastating strike. "There are downed targets, but there are also casualties," Ihnat continued.
After Russia struck a metro station and residential structures in Kyiv, at least one person was killed, and 21 were injured. At least three persons are trapped under the wreckage of a collapsed warehouse in Kyiv's Shevchenkivskyi district, according to Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
Kharkiv was the target of a "massive attack," according to Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, with more than 20 attacks reported in the area, including one on a hospital. According to regional military administration head Oleh Syniehubov, a 35-year-old man was slain and 11 individuals were injured.
According to regional military administration head Yurif Malashko on Telegram, at least one woman was killed and ten people were injured in Zaporizhzhia's southern district.
Emergency personnel are still searching for people who may be trapped beneath the wreckage of collapsed buildings.
In Odesa, a school building was hit, hurting seven persons, including a kid. According to Ukraine's health ministry, at least one person was murdered in the region.
The enormous nocturnal assault comes only days after Ukraine hit a Russian Navy landing ship in Crimea on Tuesday, causing catastrophic damage to the ship and dealing another big blow to Moscow's Black Sea fleet.
