The journey of a funeral procession in Igembe, Meru county, to deliver the bodies of their deceased to their final resting place was filled with events.
Uncertain circumstances led to a series of vehicle breakdowns in the chain used to transfer the bodies of their deceased relatives.
Witnesses claim that early on Wednesday, the funeral procession left the mortuary of Meru Level 5 hospital, but the primary vehicle transporting the body broke down.
After that, the body was transferred to another car, which broke down en route to the burial place.
"The second vehicle kept breaking on its own, almost after every few minutes, and this shocked us," said a relative who was in the procession.

According to reports, the burial was supposed to occur on Wednesday, but the quick trip took longer than expected, lasting until 7 p.m.
According to reports, a 14-seater Nissan that was chosen to make the final journey was also involved in an accident that resulted in the casket colliding with the hard tarmac.
According to a video obtained by Waza News, family members in gloves gather their deceased relatives' remains and transfer them into a different coffin.
Along the Meru-Maua road, the accident occurred in the Muuruta area, roughly halfway between the Kwa Amos and Kabaune areas.
Images viewed by Waza News additionally depict the coffin as empty and shattered. According to reports, the accident did not injure anyone else.
Many people tried to give meaning to the seemingly strange phenomenon by creating stories after the incident, which shocked both the public and the funeral procession.
Mathew Aburuki, Senior Chief, verified the incident.
"The members of the family held discussions with the traffic police who were manning the road, and were advised to take the body to nearby mortuary at St John Mission hospital morgue as they sorted their issues as a family," said Aburuki.
The body was, however, later picked up by the brother of the deceased in his private car and taken home for burial. This time, the journey was smooth, ending a day full of drama.
