Police in Ugenya Sub-County have arrested a 26-year-old man for allegedly possessing seven sacks of bhang.
The suspect, Jared Okoyo Abucheri, was transporting the commodity on a motorcycle when police officers on patrol intercepted him along Sega-Ugunja road.
The officers stopped the suspect, who was speeding, and established that the luggage that he was carrying was several brooms of cannabis sativa, which was stuffed in the seven sacks.
Confirming the incident, Siaya County Police Commander Mr. Cleti Kimaiyo said that the suspect will be arraigned in court to be charged with being in possession of an outlawed commodity.
