President William Ruto has nullified the appointments of Alawi Hussun, Dennis Aroka, Catherine Musakali, and Sumaiya Salim Mohamed to the board of Kenya Railways Corporation. The revocation, effective immediately, was communicated through a gazette notice. The President did not provide a reason for the decision, nor did he disclose the names of their replacements.
Aroka assumed the role of an independent Director on the Board on July 8, 2022.
With a wealth of expertise spanning more than 25 years in Corporate Secretarial matters, Governance, Company registration and compliance, and Board services, Aroka brings substantial experience to the position.
Hussun, formerly a Commissioner at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and having held the position of Head of the Legal Department at the Kenya Ports Authority, was appointed as a board member on October 6, 2021.
Musakali, with an extensive background having served Kenya Shell Limited (now Vivo Energy Kenya Limited) for over fifteen (15) years as their Company Secretary and Head of Legal, assumed a position on the board on October 6, 2021.
