Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has left the country to attend Zanzibar’s 60th Revolution celebrations on behalf of President William Ruto.
The DP announced his visit to the Tanzanian archipelago island of Zanzibar on Friday on his X platform.

Gachagua was accompanied by second Lady Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, MPs Owen Baya (Kilifi North) Michael Muchira (Ol Jororok), Letipila Eli (Samburu North) and Rachel Nyamai (Kitui South).
Other MPs on the trip are Joseph Cherorot (Kipkelion East), Jane Njeri (Kirinyaga County MP) and Cynthia Muge (Nandi County MP).
Rwandan President Paul Kagame and his Ugandan counterpart Yoweri Museveni have also landed for the celebrations.
Zanzibar is a partly self-governing state in Tanzania but it is not an independent country.
