South Mugirango MP Silvanus Osoro has vowed to take legal action against Governor Simba Arati over statements he made recently.
In a demand letter issued by Osoro's Lawyer, Andrew Kamotho Njenga, and Company Advocates, he asked that Governor Arati heed the demands or face "high-voltage legal proceedings."
One of the demands in the letter is to promptly "retract all the false and mindless statements published by Arati and which imply or impute, directly or indirectly, any derogation of Osoro's character and reputation."

The South Mugirango MP further requests that Arati deliver a formal apology using the "same media channels he voraciously used to spread blatant falsehoods and defamatory material about him."
The MPs' legal representatives have also requested that the governor admit responsibility, following which they will discuss damages.
They also urge that the governor stop using any further disparaging comments against the MP.
In an eight-point accusatory letter, Osoro claims that goons hired by Governor Arati descended on constituents at the Nyabisase-Nyakembene road to prevent them from grading and graveling it.
Osoro said the attack on the contractor and his innocent staff resulted in the destruction and plunder of various things, including microphones, speakers, and a sound mixer that the MP planned to use to address his voters.
"Upon being approached by law abiding constituents to return the stolen property, your team of hoodlums ruthlessly descended on our client's peaceable constituents whilst brandishing guns, machetes and other crude weapons with intent to cause grievous harm on them and our client who they imagined to be in one of the vehicles," the letter reads.
"Your goons then ventured into a reckless shootout and other acts of violence, leaving two constituents with serious injuries," it added.
In the same letter, the MP accuses Governor Arati of arrogance, uncontrolled malevolence, and disrespect for him and the electorate.
"You have severally taken to the media to wickedly accuse our client of brandishing a gun and shooting haphazardly at people attending your function and aiming at you with the intent of murder," according to the demand letter.
"Our client being an Advocate of the High court of Kenya, Member of the National Assembly and the Majority Chief Whip in the National Assembly, has suffered enduring distress irreparable reputational injury, and monumental degradation to his hard-earned reputation,"
