President William Ruto has ordered the eviction of grabbers of government land belonging to Kenya Prisons in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County.

Speaking during his tour of the newly constructed Masinde Muliro Market on Wednesday, he revealed that some cartels have grabbed the land, thus scuttling plans to relocate the prison located in Kitale.

“There are some people who have grabbed that land. I want to give them a notice from Kitale to leave that land immediately,” he said.

Additionally, he said that the land where Kitale prisons currently sits should be meant for constructing a city hence, its relocation is inevitable, directing the perpetrators to visit the land ministry and forfeit the grabbed parcels.

He also emphasized his stance on dealing firmly with corruption in the country, vowing to stop at nothing until corruption is rooted out of the country.
