Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi on Thursday expressed gratitude for Algeria's political and financial support for the multinational security support mission in Haiti.
Speaking during a meeting with Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf on the sidelines of the ongoing 19th Non-Aligned Movement Summit held in Munyonyo, Uganda.
The Prime Cabinet Secretary affirmed Kenya’s commitment to lead international efforts to support the quest for peace and stability in Haiti.
On his part, Attaf pledged Algeria's continued collaboration with Kenya on the issue.
Further, the two ministers discussed the conflict between Israel and Hamas and jointly called for the imperative of de-escalation of conflict hostilities and an end to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Both Kenya and Algeria underscored the need for a two-state solution, aligning with the UN declaration for a lasting resolution to the conflict.
In his discussion of the dangers posed by terrorism and extremism in Africa, Attaf emphasized the difficulties the Sahel region faces as a result of armed and radical groups, some of which have ties to terrorist groups like ISIS.
Mudavadi emphasized the significance of coordinated efforts to combat terrorism, referencing security issues in Kenya as a result of organizations such as Al-Shabab.
He claimed that the two countries are strategic allies on the African continent and that they maintain close diplomatic and political ties.
