President William Ruto is allegedly about to declare that Kenya is in financial distress, according to former presidential candidate Jimi Wanjigi.
Wanjigi claimed in an interview with KTN that the president is pushing Kenya toward bankruptcy and is seeking a scapegoat for the burden of the nation's debt.
"What I'm seeing is debt distress. I can see he (Ruto) is looking for a scapegoat to come and tell us now he is in distress. And he has to default on this debt. If he does that I will say that he is personally responsible for bankrupting Kenya," Wanjigi said.
He continued by saying that the president wants to flee and claimed his plans are being derailed because he has made poor decisions and policies that are now burdening the taxpayers.

"When he had the opportunity in the last 15 months to chose a better route, he chose the wrong route and he is now taking us into bankruptcy," Wanjigi added.
He declared that it was time for Kenyans to second-guess their decisions and gave President Ruto three months to clean things up, failing which he would join other concerned citizens in calling for appropriate changes.
Wanjigi suggested meeting with each creditor to discuss rescheduling and negotiating better terms for debt repayment.
He also said the president was wrong to raise taxes to pay off the debt. Instead, he finds nothing but distressing about Ruto's administration, which will have disastrous consequences for the nation.
