The Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Union (KMPDU) has served a 21-day strike notice to the County Government of Uasin Gishu for violating the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) they signed.
Addressing the press in Eldoret, KMPDU Secretary General Dr Davji Atellah accused county government management of frustrating consultants by paying intern-like salaries.
According to Atellah, the county government has stopped paying medical practitioners' salaries, forcing them to work with empty pockets.
He also stated that they are discussing signing a new CBA with doctors at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) due to challenges such as discrimination and being on the same contract for far too long.
